10 Apr Relaxing the UK Lockdown: We are Protected
With the weather getting warmer and people wanting to reconnect with loved ones it is important to remember that the Covid-19 restrictions are in place for our protection, despite being slowly eased, it is important for all of us to adhere to the guidance sent out by the government and Public Health England. According to the Government’s roadmap for England, step three for easing the Covid-19 restrictions will commence from 17 May. Before moving on to step three Government will assess the impact and success of step two, based on the following four tests:
- That the vaccine deployment programme continues successfully.
- Analysis of evidence showing that the vaccines are sufficiently effective in reducing hospitalisations and deaths in those that have been vaccinated.
- That infection rates do not cause a surge in hospitalisations which would put unsustainable pressure on the NHS.
- That the assessment of the risks is not fundamentally changed by any new variants of concern.
People may start to meet in groups outdoors, although gatherings that exceed thirty people will not be permitted. The rule for six people or two households to meet indoors, will be reviewed for the possibility of the number to be increased. Outdoor performances, the hospitality sector and indoor adult sporting and exercise activities will be allowed to reopen. Life events such as weddings, receptions, and funerals with the attendance of up to thirty people will be allowed.
Evidence shows that meeting outdoors is safer than meeting indoors, as it is less likely for the virus to spread in open air. Although the restrictions are being eased it is vital for your safety and the safety of everyone else to always remember to wash your hands often, maintain the minimum 2 meters for social distancing and to always wear a mask when meeting other people and interacting outside of your home.
Here at OsteoVision we have taken all the necessary steps to protect ourselves and our patients that visit our clinics. We sanitise our facilities regularly and the equipment after each patient. Your temperature is taken before every appointment and covid screening questionnaires completed before each booking. The members of our team are geared in full PPEs (hazmat suit/ apron, face mask, gloves and shields were necessary) when working with clients and this is changed between each patient. Patients are requested to use a facemask during their appointment.
Following these safety guidelines is of the utmost importance to us, as it enables us to treat our patients to the best of our abilities, while mitigating the risk of exposure to the virus.
